We are currently recruiting agile, empathetic and committed customer service professionals to join our team of Collections Officers within the workers’ compensation area. Within this role, you will support the collection and management of overdue premiums as well as associated duties such as management of the suspense account, management of late payment fees, etc.

Our approach to the management of overdue premiums. is to collect premium with empathy and respect, putting customer’s needs at the centre of financial decision making.

This role will draw on your exceptional customer service and decision-making skills coupled with a high level of communication, interpersonal skill and emotional intelligence.

The opportunity:

  • Acting as the key point of contact for customers who have over-due debts
  • The achievement of Collections targets
  • Adhering to set timeframes and ensuring compliance with all legislative codes and company policies
  • The pre-emptive management of high-risk clients
  • Maintain debtors accounts and the accurate and timely reconciliation of all accounts
  • Delivery of high-quality customer service
  • The promotion of QBE Values.

What does success look like?

  • Professional experience in workers’ compensation in either an insurance or employer-based organisation is desired but not essential
  • Previous experience in a customer-centric role
  • Office/Administration experience
  • Previous experience in a collections or accounts related role will be favourably viewed
  • You will enjoy managing challenging and sensitive situations to a satisfying outcome
  • Certificate III in Financial Services (highly desirable but not required, or willingness to obtain with QBE support)
  • A high degree of influencing skill partnered with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You will demonstrate an empathetic and supportive attitude
  • Developed time management skills with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • You have a flexible attitude and a motivated, service-oriented approach that allows you to deliver superior results to your clients and deal with difficult customers confidently and empathetically.
