Technical Claims Officer - Consumer Property

The opportunity:

Our aspiration is to provide a world-class claims service by seeking out the best way to help our customers during their time of need, whether it’s having their home burgled or suffering a catastrophic loss to their property. The start of this journey is to build Australia’s most respected property claims team and to do this we recognise that we must invest in our people.

As part of this plan we are currently building a new team within Property Claims Officers and are looking for exceptional individuals with strong technical knowledge to work form our Newcastle branch, commencing employment in the New Year.

What does success look like?

We are looking for solutions-focused people, who possess a technical skill set and would like to apply it within our claims function. We require self-motivated and confident individuals who maintain these levels of excellence through tough times of change and show resilience in the face of a challenge.

You will possess:

  • Previous experience in a role focused on supporting customer-facing claims teams trough applying technical product and process knowledge and expertise to assist with the progression of the claim
  • An insurance background where you have provided a world class customer service experience and have shown passion to grow and develop in to a property insurance professional
  • An eye for details and a desire to ensure team outputs adhere to procedures and standards
  • A strong focus on applying your current skills to improve the performance of the overall end-to-end claims management function
  • A highly empathetic approach to dealing with customers, possessing the ability to be friendly, yet professional
  • A modern approach to improving the business and a willingness to embrace change
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
