As part of this plan we are currently recruiting a claims manager for our consumer and retail property team to work from our Newcastle branch. This role will report into the National Manager for property claims and oversee the property claims service managers, as well as work with the claims director in QBE’s Global Shared Service Centre in the Philippines.

We are looking for a performance driven manager, who coaches their staff towards achieving the highest of results. A self-motivated individual with excellent organisational skills who takes pride in every aspect of their working life. An inspirational leader who is objective and takes a strong factual approach from gaining the best from their team.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • At least 10 years’ management experience with five plus years’ claims management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the property insurance industry and claims processes and systems
  • Passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience
  • Resilience in dealing with and helping team members deal with complex property insurance claims
  • Be able to effectively coach, mentor and develop team members
  • A data driven approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in managing consumer and/or retail property claims and building relationships with insurance brokers, suppliers and customers preferred
