Injury Management Advisor

Location: Hobart or Launceston
Role type: Permanent, full-time  

We currently have an opportunity for a qualified rehabilitation and/or allied health professional to join our workers’ compensation claims team. Reporting to the Workers’ Compensation Rehabilitation Manager, you will be responsible for assisting QBE case managers, workers’ compensation claimants and claims stakeholders through the rehabilitation and injury management process.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provide day-to-day injury management technical support, coaching and motivation to workers’ compensation case managers and claims stakeholders
  • Screen new claims to identify injury management and rehabilitation needs
  • Monitor rehabilitation programs, and liaise and negotiate with external providers
  • Implement and monitor audit rehabilitation compliance, and prepare material and case studies for audits, and training
  • Implement and monitor new, innovative procedures and processes  

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • People skills, including the ability to coach and motivate others
  • Knowledge and understanding of injury management and rehabilitation
  • Three to five years’ clinical experience or workplace based rehabilitation experience will be highly regarded
  • An allied health qualification in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, rehabilitation counseling, nursing or psychology will be highly regarded
  • Initiative - the ability to work towards set targets
  • Sound computer skills
