Group Tax Manager

The Opportunity:

You will be assisting the Group Head of Tax in managing the global taxation affairs of QBE Group, including the management of the group’s taxation reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. You will be asked to provide advice on domestic and international tax matters, including transfer pricing, and review and co-ordinate the group’s tax reporting responsibilities.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to functional strategy development and prioritisation of operational deliverables for group tax, including transfer pricing, to ensure alignment with business objectives and adherence to best practice
  • Control the group’s consolidated tax reporting; reviewing processes and monitoring inputs to ensure that information provided is robust, accurate and relevant, supports decision making and meets regulatory and other requirements
  • Support the Global Head of Transfer Pricing to ensure compliance with transfer pricing laws so that all legal requirements are met, including diverted profits tax and thin capitalisation
  • Advising on complex tax issues including capital and debt funding, foreign exchange and corporate development

You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

You will have an undergraduate qualification in accounting/taxation/law and it is highly desirable that you have a post graduate qualification such as a CA/CPA or a Master of Tax. You will be a strong influencer with well-developed analytical skills. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to utilise your international tax knowledge.
